Background Checks for Volunteers
At Above the Clouds, the safety and well-being of the children we serve are our highest priorities. To ensure a secure environment for all participants, we conduct background checks on our volunteers through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS) iCORI system.
We deeply appreciate the time, dedication, and passion our volunteers bring to our mission. Conducting these checks is not about excluding individuals but about providing families—especially those in vulnerable circumstances—peace of mind, knowing their children are in safe hands.
Confidentiality & Fair Consideration
- All information submitted for the CORI check is kept strictly confidential.
- Having something on your CORI does not necessarily disqualify you from volunteering.
- Each case is reviewed individually and thoughtfully.
