How Our Dream Flyers Program Works

At Above the Clouds, our Dream Flyers program brings joy, hope, and unforgettable experiences to children facing serious adversity. Here’s how it works:

We collaborate with community-based organizations (CBOs) and accept direct referrals from families to identify eligible children.

  • CBOs identify, screen, or vet children who experience serious illness, disability, or other significant challenges.
  • Families and CBOs submit applications, which are evaluated and approved by our team.

Each Dream Flight is carefully planned to ensure a seamless and personalized experience.

  • Dream Flyers are assigned a flight date.
  • Volunteers are recruited, including a Flight Coordinator, Volunteer Pilot, Greeter, and others who help make the day extraordinary.
  • Signed liability waivers are submitted, and the CBO or family ensures the Dream Flyer arrives at the airport.

Every Dream Flight is designed to be as special and unique as the child we are serving.

  • The day begins with a warm welcome celebration.
  • The pilot provides a pre-flight briefing to ensure the child feels confident and excited.
  • The Dream Flyer takes to the skies, enjoying a breathtaking flight over Boston.
  • After the flight, the Dream Flyer receives an aviation jacket and sunglasses to commemorate their adventure.
  • The day concludes with a joyful celebration of their incredible experience.
